We live immersed in a Digital Culture which is an emerging set of values, practices, and expectations reflected in the way people act and interact within modern society. Its principal components are participation (collaboration, we are not only citizens but netizens); remediation (legitimacy and credibility); and bricolage (reuse of sources, redistribute information). Therefore, by examining these three aspects of a Digital Culture, the author comes to two conclusions. First, cultures exist side by side, partly overlap, and certain values mean different things within different media cultures, as for example bricolage in electronic media can mean zapping (TV) and scanning (radio), whereas on the Internet it can refer to aggregating secondhand truths through deep linking. Second, the moment one names and defines a culture, it has already become something else. There is no such thing as “the” digital culture.

The strategic planners of pourquoi tu cours (the ideas agency) have identified 4 major social trends for 2009 and 2010. 1st social trend : Self Accomplishment - Recentring on oneself - The need for doing things - Conscience awakening Second social trend : Interactive Identity - Open Identity - Co constructed Identity - Active Identity - Augmented Identity The 3rd social trend : Networking - People like us - Activation links - Interpersonal links - Influence nodes 4th social trend : Collective automation: - Shared activity spaces - Action communities - Open access - Geolocalisation - Technological automation Pourquoi tu cours (the ideas agency) is a strategic planning agency run by Jérémy Dumont that helps brand managers develop strategies designed for the new interactive generation on and offline (our 2.0 strategic planning services). We have enabled companies such as iDTGV, Orange, LVMH, Crédit Coopératif to function as one dynamic network to increase their performance, to practice open innovation to develop new products and services, to engage consumers in new relationships through advertising, to build social platforms to better interact with stakeholders comunities or to integrate social media in their strategies. At the forefront of innovation, our exchange platform, PSST(opinions and trends 2.0), is the place where 60 000 professionals working in marketing, communication, media and design interact to share ideas and master 2.0 innovations. - Professionals with different skills and fields of expertise gather in our think tank courts circuits to deliver innovative thinking in tune with emerging social trends and quickly operational in any economic sector. - Once a month, les apéros du jeudi make people and ideas collide in Paris. We call innovation pioneers the experts in a scientific or technical domain in the early stages of its development. Advances in information technologies allow networks of organizations and individuals to exchange ideas and knowledge. Not differently from what has happened in communities of consumers with the emergence of the so called prosumers, ICT can support communities of innovation pioneers. However, the role of IT in this domain has not been studied extensively in the management literature. Understanding the dynamics of communities of innovation pioneers, instead, can provide companies with precious knowledge on future breakthrough innovations. This paper means to deepen our understanding of communities of innovation pioneers and the role of IT in supporting them. To achieve this goal, we investigate the case of Musigen, a new web platform with the purpose to support knowledge sharing in the generative music field.

keynote speech (slides) at the 6th International Forum of Design As A Process -- Beyond Processes and Thinking. Universitat Politècnica de València, Spain -- 22nd-24th June 2016 -- WWW: http://www.6thforumofdesign.com/ Abstract: The new industrial and digital craft objects shall not be considered as finished products, so in other words ‘ready-to-use’ and closed in on themselves. They are not the ultimate outcome of expert anticipatory (or predictive) studies (i.e. future sensing), and even less the material support of prescribed/predefined uses. In fact, these new objects are inherently unfinished, and therefore spur both designers and users into action (in favor of manifold design and development proposals). As their shape and function (amongst others) continuously change, the object acquires a new status, a new nature: it becomes a genuine system that provides an infinite number of possible object. The series would thus be lying within the object — the first occurrence of the object-system allows establishing the foundations of his ad hoc combinational logic (leading to countless generations of object states). In my speech, I will strive to highlight the main challenges and opportunities brought by what appears to be a new systemic revolution of product design. To do so, I will focus on two key strategic axes: (1) from the object improvement to his ‘parametric mutation’; (2) from the customization/adaptation of object to a new type of innovative use (towards an innovation through practice).

We present an architecture of embedding models, vector databases, LLMs, and narrow ML for tracking global news narratives across a variety of countries/languages/news sources. As an example, we explore the real-time application of this architecture for tracking the news narrative surrounding the death of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny coming from Russian, French, and English sources.
