Management as Art 
Management as an art, has the following features:- 
Situational. 
Personal skill. 
Personal judgment. 
Improvement through practice. 
Practical knowledge. 
Constructive results.
Situational 
Management has to perform 
their function on the basis of the 
particular situation and so managerial 
functions can be called as an art. 
Managers use different policies in 
different situations. So they change their 
policies situationally.
Personal skill 
Management is an individual 
skill. Every manager has his own style in 
performing the managerial functions. The 
exercise of managerial function depends 
on the personal skill of the manager, one 
can treat management as an art.
Personal judgment 
There are many managerial 
principles which are helpful in 
performing managerial functions. But the 
place and time where they are to be 
applied depends on the personal 
judgment of the manager.
Improvement through practice 
Like other art managerial 
skill can be improved through 
constant and dedicated hard working. 
The quality of a person as a manager 
will certainly improve on account of 
experience.
Practical knowledge 
The performing of several 
managerial functions requires practical 
knowledge and experiences. Only those 
managers who had practical knowledge 
can forecast things in the midst of 
uncertainty and prepares good plan for 
the business.
Constructive results 
Management create a congenial 
atmosphere in the organization. This 
will lead to attain the organizational 
goals, because the motivated 
employees in the organization may 
do best for his organization.
Conclusion 
Hence the management 
is an art because it requires 
acquisition and application of 
skill necessary to perform a 
desired function.
