What we heard you say about collections at the library? • Increase DVD and CD collections • Improve audio book collection • Improve browsing of the collection(remove bottom shelves) • Improve access to series (ensure all books in a series are available) • Increase car magazines • Provide open reservation shelves(like at Cardiff) • Improve access to e-books • Improve catalogue by introducing a “did you mean” function to searching What we are achieving • Over 4000 new DVDs and CDs purchased in 2014-2015, with 30,000 available in our collection • Processes in place to capture Series and Audio books • New car magazine – “Octane” added to Zinio e-mag platform • Improved customer access and experience with the library’s e-products, particularly e-mags via easier login and access to products What we are planning in 15/16 • Continued provision of new DVDs and CDs • Open reservation shelf project across library branches • Improved browsing opportunities across library branches – with changes to shelving and displays • Continue to improve access to e-resources making it easier to find items and resources • Planning for a new Catalogue and Library Management System is underway, which will include search improvements to make it easier for our customers

Facilities – Belmont • More comfortable seating, lounges and cushions • Meeting Room – provide sound system in room • Introduce a café • Provide a more multi-function space that is flexible and can adapt to different program delivery, study needs, and changes to the collection • More computers • Introduce a technology table with tablets– Ipads, Galaxys • Access to 3D printer • Improve Belmont library car park– add extra parking • Consider relocating to where there is increased pedestrian traffic What we are planning in 15/16 • Introduction of coffee cart • Improved comfortable seating • Sound system in meeting room • Other suggestions will be incorporated in our planning for future years Facilities – Edgeworth • Requires a larger library facility to service northwest of the City • Introduce a café • Needs public toilet facilities • No car parking facilities (have to park at shopping centre or tavern and cross busy intersection to access) • Lack of facilities and parking • Improved disabled access and parking • Improve parking • Consider moving to shoppingcentre • Consider meeting room facilities • Consider exhibition space for local artists • Relocate to better location and facility • Provide more space for program delivery – like BaRK program • Improve Wi-Fi and computer access What we are planning in 15/16 • Introduction of coffee/tea facility • Wi-fi and computer access improvements • Other suggestions require major budget allocations and will be incorporated in our future plans
