Slovakia is a country located in Central Europe that borders the Czech Republic, Austria, Poland, Ukraine, and Hungary. It has a population of over five million people and its capital and largest city is Bratislava. The official language is Slovak. The country has mountains, forests, caves, lowlands, and its longest river is the Vah. Popular culture includes the folk hero Juraj Janosik and the national dish bryndzove halusky. The second largest city, Kosice, has over 240,000 residents and is home to the Gothic St. Elisabeth Cathedral.

We have lots of caves too.
There are lots of lowlands, for example
„Východoslovenská nížina, Podunajská nížina“.

The best known Slovak hero, found in many
mythologies, is Juraj Jánošík.
Popular is folk tradition.
Slovak national dish is „Bryndzové halušky“.

Košice is the second largest city in Slovakia.
It has population of over 240 000.
The city centre and the most historical
monuments are located in or around the Main
Street.
The most dominant historical monument of the
city is Slovakia's largest church - Gothic St.
Elisabeth Cathedral.

their education.
