the Irish health services. Our
commitment is to preserve, maintain and
make freely available for research
purposes, policy & research from authors
and health agencies on the island of
Ireland to the global community.
Lenus’ vision is to support Open Access
research in Irish health by developing a
single access point and repository for Irish
health literature and research.
5. Open Access Movement
“BBB” defines open access literature as
digital, online, free, and exempted from
most copyright and licensing restrictions.
“Removing access barriers to this literature will
accelerate research, enrich education, share the
learning of the rich with the poor and the poor
with the rich, and lay the foundation for uniting
humanity in a common intellectual conversation
and quest for knowledge.”
