Even though American made parts were all within specified tolerance levels. The Japanese car parts were virtually identical to each other. This made Japanese cars run more smoothly, had less wear and tear and could last longer. \n\nThe reason was the overall philosophy Japanese car makers had - they did not focus not only on the production - but on a higher wholesome level - people, organization, business, suppliers.. the whole shebang to achieve the 0.0625 precision in every part. \n\n\n
