Indoor Outdoor Theater
Abstract first year project dealing with the rela-
tionship of interior, exterior, and the transition
in between those spaces. The project divides the
private and public spaces on opposite east and
west ends.
Menil Library & Coffee Shop
Houston, TX

                             The project is an integra-
tion of a library and a

The project explores the relation-
ship between indoor and outdoor
as well as uses a sloped roof re-
sponding to weather conditions
such as blocking heat from the
south sun. It is locted in the middle
of the intersection of a bay of water
and a creak where the nature cent-
ers acts as a transition space itself.
The systems working together are
a coulum an beam systems seper-
ated from the walls that provide the
enclosure.

COA Community Center
University of Houston, TX

The College of Architecture Com-
munity Center is designed as a rest-
ing/relaxing place for architecture
students. The intention is to make
the project itself a plaza by a level
change three feet submerged when
walking throughout the south side
of the architecture building. The
buildings respond to the existing cir-
culation as well as the placement of
the entrance points. The green roof
links three of the buildings provid-
ing students with a private yet open
exterior space.

The project deals with differ-

function of the spaces in the
program. The art center essen-
tially is a lifted mass held up by Retail floor
columns. The columns are not
continuous after the first floor
to offset the curtain wall giving Basement Theaters

the upper floors more surface

Buffalo Bayou Water
Pump Station
Houston, TX

The pump station deals with flood levels
and its’ primary functions are to control
the flood water from the bayou, treat the
water, and pour it back into the bayou
or store it in the underground reservoir.
