End Date: 24.05.2015 WRC event held in Portugal is returning to the north of the country for the first time since 2001. This is the traditional stamping ground of the rally which was a founding member of the world championship back in 1973. A combination of the torrential downpours experienced during the 2001 rally, which turned the event into an all out mud fight, and economic issues led to the event being moved to the more affluent Algarve region in the south. But now the municipalities around Matosinhos have joined forces to bring the rally back, with the town serving as the new base for the event.
