Building a career in visual arts is not an easy prospect. Once the artwork is complete, a whole new set of
factors come into play influencing how, where and how much you can sell your work for. Whether you
can make a name for yourself and build a strong career. These factors may seem out of your control, but
it is not.
The seminar series has assisted audiences around the country to understand how the visual art
industry works, it gives them strategies to navigate their way through it. This 2013 seminar series
3. has been supported by the National Arts Council of South Africa to reach a wider geographical
audience.

• How to successfully build an artistic profile
• The value of networks
• Marketing yourself and your work to realise your objectives
