Jeffrey Cook was awarded the 2010 International Research Award for Desert Architecture for his lifetime achievement in research on dryland architecture and integrating renewable energy use in the built environment. The award was given at the 3rd UNESCO-supported International Conference on 'Dry-lands, Deserts and Desertification' held at Ben-Gurion University in Israel. Jeffrey Cook also received the Best Paper Award at the National Conference on 'Sustainable Development in Built Environment' in Bhopal, India in 2001 from the Indian Building Congress.
