Few Quick Thoughts on Today's changing demography of Leadership. Made a few brief points for a Presentation in a Global Leadership Seminar & it was widely appreciated. Happy to share with all of you.

2. 1. Best leaders are best managers of situations they face.
 You may not be interested in “CRISIS” but “CRISIS” is always interested in you.
2. LEADERSHIP is not just about power & position, today it is all about responsibility.
 The most important wings on an airplane are on the pilot. You are the pilot of your team. Buck stops at you.
3. LEADERSHIP is about your CHARACTER.
 Your toughest moments truly reveal what you are made of – STEEL or GLASS.
4. LEADERSHIP is about a CLEAR VISION & inline ACTIONS on that.
 Your clear purpose & aligned actions in an organization is more important than anything else.
5. LEADERS must be an OPPORTUNIST (Not such a bad word)
 By the time you realize the time to act, it might be already too little too late.

3. The Opportunist
Conversations of a different kind between a Realist,Pessimist,
Optimist & an Opportunist
The Pessimist (Glass is half empty) – I will have to take water multiple times to be
satisfied.The water should have been filled to the top.– The Critic
The Optimist (Glass is half full) – I am happy that there is atleast water to drink & I will
drink it to quench my thirst.– The Satisfied
The Realist (Glass is not shaped right & the water source is not perfect) – I would like to
suggest we change the glass or the water source or better the speed at which we fill
water.I think “we can do better.” – The Auditor
The Opportunist – Dear Pessimist,Optimist & Realist,I am very sorry friends,while you
were busy complaining about the glass,the water source & what not,I just picked up the
glass & drank from it.– The Leader
