2. Society areas
The areas of society that my magazine includes is generally
most areas as there is a good mix of males and females of
different ages and income. My target audience is males and
females aged 15 – 19 however I believe that people outside this
group could buy my magazine due to the inclusion of older
bands such as Oasis.
The inclusion of male and female rising stars in my magazine
will help with the young audience as it could provide a positive
role model who they aspire to be like such as Jack Lloyd and
Steph Byrane. All the acts are represented as very fun and
happy which matches the indie genre.
For working class people my magazine is easily accessible as I
took advise from my questionnaire and decided to price my
magazine at £2.50 making it buy-able for all.
3. Indie subcultures
Indie pop Lo - fi

My magazine is mostly focused upon indie pop and alternative rock as these are the most
popular amongst my target audience today. However, so that appeals to a larger market I
have also included older bands who will be familiar to them, therefore encouraging them to
buy my magazine.
The use of an electric guitar as a prop will appeal to all audiences as this has unfeathered
since the genre was born in the early 80's. Also the pictures are bright which will appeal to my
target audience more as the modern genre is associated with being independent, bright, bold
and colourful, all of which are present throughout my magazine in the form of images, text and
boxes.
The whole genre is based on being young and different. This idea fits my magazine well as
there are many young stars who are different from 'the norm' therefore in keeping with
stereotypes.
4. Social issues
This genre is often associated with being happy
and fun and I believe I have followed this by the
use of bright colours such as red and bright
images. It is also seen as a young, rebellious
genre which I have kept to with the inclusion of
multiple young stars that are rising to fame.
