La résistance aux antimalariques repose sur 3 mécanismes :
Mutations ponctuelles
Amplification génique
Activité transcriptionnelle
A chaque mécanisme correspond un ou plusieurs gènes dont
l’altération est associée à une résistance médicamenteuse
Chaque mécanisme fait l’objet d’études réalisées au moyen d’outils
moléculaires
Applications
Surveiller le développement des souches résistantes
Discriminer un échec thérapeutique d’une réinfection
