METHOD
The customer should follow these procedures if they see streaks appearing in their prints.
This procedure uses an application that is downloaded when installing the printer drivers
from the Printer CD (included with the printer purchase).
1. Click on “Start” located at the bottom left hand side of the screen. You will
then see a window pop up, click on “Control Panel”. Another window will
pop up; click on “Printers and
Faxes”.
2. Select your Printer and a window
(see Window 1) will pop up.
Click on “Printer” in the top left
hand side of the window.
3. Select “Printing Preferences…” and a window
will pop up (see Window 2). There will be a
“Maintenance” tab at the top of the window,
click on the tab.

4. Once you’re in the Maintenance section
you’ll have five different options to choose
from, click on “Head Cleaning” (see
Window 3). This option will clean the
Print Head in the printer to clear any dried
up ink that might be causing streaks in the
Prints.
5. After selecting the Head Cleaning button
you will see a new window (see Window
4) pop up, which gives the option to cancel
or start the Head Cleaning process. Press
“Start” to begin cleaning.
6. The printer will now begin to clean the
Print Head. You will see a window appear
(see Window 5) while the Print Head is
being cleaned.

7. After the Head Cleaning is finished a
window will pop up (see Window 6),
select “Print Nozzle Check Pattern”.
8. Another window will appear (see
Window 7). Click on the “Print”
button. The nozzle check pattern will
now print.
9. A window will now pop up (see
Window 8). If the print still has streaks
click on the “Clean” button to repeat
the Head Cleaning process. Click the
“Finish” button if the prints are looking
like the “Good” example in Window 8.
