- As the name implies the mountain range exhibits a stunning blue hue.They are a range of mountains in the westernmost part of Tamil Nadu at the junction of Karnataka and Kerala in Southern India. They are part of the larger Western Ghats mountain chain making up the western edge of the Deccan Plateau . From chennai it is around 10hrs train journey.We took the prestegious Bluemountain express to reach Mettupalayam, the city at the base, in the early hrs.From there, wecan reach Ooty by a toy train that moves in a snails pace allowing one to enjoy the luxury of nature.But it takes nearly 4 to 5 hrs and so people who plans the trips in short term notice takes the route by road.
