 Our 2 children are now young adults
 Former Cub Scout leader & soccer dad
 Community volunteer
I also manage several volunteer web sites, including Fraser Valley Scouts

3. My STEM Initiatives
 Cub Scout Activities (computers,
geocaching, ~2001)
 VBS Science (3 years running)
 Arduino workshops

4. Vacation Bible School
 A week long ‘camp’ at a local church
 50 youth across 4 age groups
 I am the ‘Science guy’
 Ages 3 through 12
For ‘Genesis’, we made primordial ooze

5. VBS Science Planning
 More hands on, fewer demonstrations
 Provide age appropriate activities
 Have extra activities available
 Minimize waiting in line
 Generate enthusiasm

6. Scouts has a STEM Program

7. Arduino Workshop
 Developed and funded on my own
 For Scouts in the Fraser Valley
 Focused on ages 14 and up
 Held 2 workshops so far
 It was awesome!
