2. My magazines target audience is aimed at an audience of 16 years old and
above; I have chosen this age range as 16 is the legal age to work and
statistics have shown that 743,000 people aged 16-24 were unemployed in
November to January 2015, down 12,000 on the previous quarter and down
181,000 on the previous year. This statistic shows that most 16-24 year olds
are employed and that are able to pay the fee of £2.99 for my magazine
AURA . It is also aimed at both males and female; by it being aimed at both
sexes it widens the target audiences and therefore increases the amount of
people who by my magazine. In my audience research at the end of the
PowerPoint I have made a simple mood board of whom my magazine will
attract by putting pictures of my genre artists. My magazine is also aimed at
people music fans who like the genres of RnB, Hip-Hop, POP and Rap which
is all part of the sub genre of Urban. The reason why I didn’t just choose one
genre was because it would narrow the variety of artists that I can put in my
magazine and I want my magazine to be enjoyable for people who like these
genres not just for one target audience. Also by creating a magazine with four
genres incorporated in one magazine, it makes it very unique as no other
magazine does and this also increases the profit of my magazine as it
appeals to a wider target audience as well.
