10. BUSINESS MODEL
Value of Proposition
• Users can watch and download videos for free.
• Share videos with others for no charge of price.
Revenue Model
• Advertising – only text advertisements are available. But
pre-roll, post-roll, or interstitial video ads may be right
around the corner.
• Subscription - The subscription would eliminate ads and
provide better streaming quality.
• Affiliate - YouTube only benefits when a user buys or pays
for the given service displayed on the side of the page.
• Content - Users upload their videos and smack a price on
them. If people download them and they sell, the user gets
paid out and YouTube receives a commission on the sale.
12. BUSINESS MODEL
Competitive Advantage
• Display a wide variety of user-generated video content including
movie clips, TV clips and music clips as well as amateur content
such as video blogging and short original video.
13. BUSINESS MODEL
Market Strategy
• The marketing strategy of YouTube is to have a mass
amount of YouTube users at your disposal to generate
hype and activity within the video clip page. The more
connections you have with top publishers and social
media users, the easier it is to make a video go viral
through the help of such entities. The hyping process
for most viral videos is artificial so creating them is all
about having numbers and connections.
