Hello! We are Alberto and Ainara and we are 11 years old. In this
power point presentation, we are going to explain some things about
our capital city, Madrid. We are from Spain and we live in Baeza.
Hello, my name is Alberto, I`m from Baeza. I have one sister called
Emma. I have parents too. My parents are called Eva and Paco. I like
to travel from place to place and I love to eat different food from
different places and countries when I travel with my family.

Hi! I`m Ainara, Im from Baeza too. Alberto and I we are friends and
we go to the same class. I haven`t got any brothers or sisters, but
I`ve got 10 cousins. I`ve got a mother too, she`s called Isabel. I
love to travel like Alberto. I was born in China, but I live in Spain. I
like to eat different food like Alberto. I have traveled to: Madrid,
China, Catalunya and Castilla-La Mancha. Bye bye!
3. INTRODUCTION
Madrid is an important city in Spain because is our capital city.
Madrid has a lot of famous things in it, like Puerta del Sol, Plaza de
Cibeles, etc.
Madrid has a lot of parks, like Parque de Juan Carlos I, Parque Lineal
del Manzanares, etc.
Madrid has too many museums, like Museo Naval, Museo Reina Sofía,
Museo del Prado and Museo Thyssen Bornemisza.
Madrid has many football stadiums too, Santiago Bernabéu, Vicente
Calderón, Alfredo Di Estéfano, etc.
It has a lot of monuments too, like Muralla de Madrid, Iglesia de San
Nicolás de los Servitas, Iglesia San Pedro el Grande, Casa de los
Lujares, Capilla del Obispo, Casa Cisneros, Monasterio de las
Descalzas Reales, Casa de las siete Chimeneas, Puente de Segovia,
etc.
Madrid has a lot of ways to travel from one place of the city to
another places of the city bybus, train, metre, etc.
4. INFORMATION
1) Puerta del sol,was one of the entries in the wall that surrounded
Madrid in the XV century an the name comes from a sun that was in
the door. Originally, was a point outside of the city, but the growth
of Madrid to the east, it was becoming a key place for the exit to
the limits of Madrid.
2) Plaza de Cibeles, was designed by the architect Ventura
Rodríguez in 1782. The fountain represents the Goddes Cibeles in a
chariot drawn by lions. In 1895, they moved the monument to the
center and it was becoming to be a decorative element.
3) Parque de Juan Carlos I, was oppened in the occasion of
MADRID, EUROPEAN CAPITAL OF CULTURE 1992, whit an area
highly degraded respeting an existing centenary olive recovered.
4) Parque Lineal Del Manzanares, from the south of M-30 to the
Rivas Vaciamadrid town, extending what we called Manzanares Park.
Above him, through the heart of Madrid, the space that leaves the
big city to the river, is the Madrid Río Park. he Manzanares Park is
linearly articulated by the Manzanares river.
6. INFORMATION
1) Museo Naval, The Naval Museum was provisionally inaugurated
on November 19, 1843 by theQueen Elizabeth II at the Palace or
House of the Councils. Since its opening it has had various
locations and is currently in the Paseo del Prado, near the Madrid
Stock Exchange.
2) Museo Reina Sofía, is one of the most important museums of
Madrid and offers visitors an extensive collection of works of
Spanish contemporary art. Founded in 1992, the Reina Sofia
continues periods not covered by Museo del Prado, beginning to
exhibit works from 1881, the year of birth of Pablo Picasso.
3) Museo del Prado, is the most famous museum in Madrid and
one of the most important museums of art world. The museum
was designed by Juan de Villanueva and it was opened in 1819.
8. INFORMATION
1) Museo Thyssen Bornemisza, its collection is composed of more than
800 works that the Spanish state bought the Thyssen-Bornemisza
family in July 1993.
2) Santiago Bernabéu football stadium, in the 1999-2000 season was
carried out a modernization process known as 'Project Leader XXI'. It
launched many services to help members and fans: the Real Madrid, the
telephone ticket sales and transferable and funded fertilizer.
3) Vicente Calderón football stadium, from the first of October, 1966
Atletico Madrid play their matches on the banks of the Manzanares.
The Calderon has witnessed great feats like conquering the
Intercontinental or Doubles League, plus host the Mundial'82. Our
coliseum His capacity for 54.907 spectators is classified by UEFA as a

4) Alfredo Di Estéfano football stadium, is a football stadium
inaugurated Spanish in Madrid on May 9, 2006. Adopts this name in
honor of Alfredo Di Stéfano, Real Madrid Football Club in the 50's and

football.

Muralla de Madrid, they are remnants of a wall of defense of

beginning of our century. Hall holds units.
2) Monasterio de las Descalzas Reales, monastery of the s.XVI,
has plateresca facade, Renaissance staircase and interior s.
XVIII. It houses works of great artistic value.
3) Casa de las siete Chimeneas, palace House of the s.XVI, this
beautiful building is now the headquarters of the Ministry of
Culture.
4) Puente de segovia, it is attributed to Juan de Herrera, is
seated in nine arches.
