3. Composition The core is made from rock. Electricity runs through the liquid hydrogen. Jupiter has three rings. The rings are made of dark rocks and dust. Jupiter is also made of liquid hydrogen gas.

4. Unique Facts Jupiter is the biggest planet in the Solar System. Jupiter has more than 60 moons. Jupiter’s core is 15 times the size of Earth. It is more than one and one half times as big as the other eight planets put together.

5. Previous Missions The most recent attempt to reach Jupiter was made in 1989 with the launch of the Galileo spacecraft. Traveling a hundred thousand miles an hour, the unmanned spaceship took six years to reach Jupiter.
