Internet meme is used to describe something as a picture, video, concept or a catchphrase that spreads quickly through the Internet from person to person, they are usually spread through e-mail, social networking sites, message boards etc. The meme may stay the same over time or they are altered over time by different people. 3. A lolcat is a picture that usually involves a cat, but can involve other animals, that has a caption which is in broken English or Internet slang, this parodies poor grammar. The caption on the image usually acts as a speech balloon expressing what the cat is thinking or a description of the scene. The first use of the term ‘lolcat’ goes back to 2005 on the imageboard 4chan, in 2006 ‘lolcats’ started to grow on the internet and a website called LOLcats.com was setup.
