Solyfast is a novel light-triggered tin-free metal catalyst that enables fast curing of 2K-PUR coatings at room temperature. It provides coatings with a long pot-life of over 1 hour while still allowing rapid curing upon exposure to UV light. This offers benefits like reduced energy costs compared to traditional thermal curing and less waste from shorter production times. Testing showed Solyfast achieved fast curing of both clear and pigmented 2K-PUR coatings upon low-dose UV activation, with catalytic activity dependent on the UV dose applied.
