1. HR Interviewer Job Description
The Interviewers in the Human Resource Department or 3rd party head hunters perform initial
interviews of prospective candidates for vacant positions by telephone, webcam or in person. Apart
from verifying and completing the information contained in their resume or application forms, the
objective is to shortlist the candidate for further screening or interviews. In addition, a trained
interviewer may be instructed to provide initial impression on the applicant to aid in the screening
process.
HR Interviewer Duties and Responsibilities :•
Contact applicant and ask questions in accordance with standards procedure as defined by the
company.
•
For phoned-in interviews, verify that the person is the one in the application form by confirming
the various specified information in the application such as person’s name, contact points, age,
civil status, religious preference, etc.
•
Contact individuals to be interviewed by telephone, registered mail, email, or in person.
•
Conduct Webcam interviews online if applicant is properly equipped for it.
•
Identify and report problems in obtaining valid data and reject applicants with incomplete data
or with suspicious circumstances.
•
Provide HR supervisor with daily interview results with indications for short listing.
•
Review information obtained from interview for accuracy and completeness.
•
Assist applicants in accomplishing job applications or questionnaires.
•
Validate contact addresses and phone numbers.
HR Interviewer Skills and Specifications :•
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•
Must exhibit courteous, dignified and pleasant personality.
•
Has computer proficiency in the use of word processing and spreadsheets.
•
Excellent interpersonal skills to deal with supervisors and interviewees.
2. HR Interviewer Education and Qualifications :•
A high school diploma or GED is basic. Some college education or equivalent experience in HR
functions is an advantage.
HR Interviewer Salary
The average annual salary is between $45,000- $75,000. There is a wide variance as different companies
pay for the position at different rates often depending on location and nature of business.
