5. NEGATIVE PASSIONS are pitfalls
on our way to fulfilling destiny
and each time we fall due to it,
we are taken into the desert of
life and most times deserted.
7. SYMPTOMS OF NEGATIVE PASSION
1. Uncontrolled appetite for food and sex
Esau: Gen 25:29-34 a bowl of soup
Gen 27:5-7
(deception motivated by his mother, Rebekah)
Gen 32-33 Jacob and Esau are
reconciled
2. Putting self before others
8. SYMPTOMS OF NEGATIVE PASSION
3. Willingness to get money at all cost
4. Pride
5. Boasting and excessive talking
6. Envy
9. EXAMPLES OF NEGATIVE PASSION
1. Fornication – Acts 15:20
But that we write unto
them, that they abstain
from pollutions or idols,
and from fornication, and
from things strangled, and
from blood.
• 1Thessalonians 4:3 For
this is the will of God,
even your sanctification
that ye should abstain
from fornication Tell

12. Judges 16:1-5
THEN SAMSON went to Gaza and saw a harlot there, and went in to her.
2 The Gazites were told, Samson has come here. So they surrounded the place
and lay in wait for him all night at the gate of the city. They were quiet all night,
saying, in the morning, when it is light, we will kill him.
3 But Samson lay until midnight, and [then] he arose and took hold of the doors
of the city's gate and the two posts, and pulling them up, bar and all, he put them
on his shoulders and carried them to the top of the hill that is before Hebron.
4 After this he loved a woman in the Valley of Sorek whose name was Delilah.
5 And the lords of the Philistines came to her and said to her, Entice him and see
in what his great strength lies, and by what means we may overpower him that we
may bind him to subdue him. And we will each give you 1,100 pieces of silver.

14. His tenure as
American
president was
regarded as
eight(8) years of
prosperity, but
Lewinski scandal
made a serious
dent on his impact
15. Prostitution – an unbeliever may see it as a given skill (passion)
and they are using this passion to make money to provide for
their families. Tell someone it’s not too late to turn from your
wicked ways and give their life to Christ.
16. Stealing – The bible says
thou shall not steal. (Children
and young adults steal from
parents, family members and
friends)
17. Drug Abuse – Lack of passion for Christ, the
frustrations and stress of life can lead someone
to becoming a drug user. In the process of
rehab they can turn their life around and
develop an intense passion for God.

18. Homosexuality - People are engaging in this act secretly.
Anything you can’t do out in the open, you must realize there
is something not pleasing about it to God.
No matter what we try to replace God with whether its
friends, work, marriage, etc. we’ll all end up in the desert.
God will allow us to go through some things in order to get
our attention
19. Addiction of any kind apart from addiction
to God is a sign of spiritual decadence
20. The moment a
man is
addicted to
something a
door is open
for the devil to
make a dent
on his/her
destiny
21. It is not out of
the way to have
negative passion,
but it must be
dealt with and get
ridden of when
discovered.
And the only way
to be able to deal
with it is
TO TELL
SOMEONE.
22. The best way to
deal with negative
passion is to
expose it, because
it will continue to
ignite the fire,
set you ablaze and
eventually
exposes you when
you try to cover
it.
23. Col 3:5-7
5 Therefore put to death your members which are
on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil
desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. 6
Because of these things the wrath of God is coming
upon the sons of disobedience, 7 in which you
yourselves once walked when you lived in them.
NKJV
24. Mistakes and errors committed as a result of our
uncontrolled or negative passion leaves an indelible mark
and a scar in our lives that we will forever nurse and
sometimes prevent us from fulfilling destiny
25. Even though your
negative passions
takes you to the
desert, however, God
being who He His,
never leave us but
wants us to learn
something while in the
desert in order for us
to bounce back
stronger
26. Even though
the scar cant
be erased, you
can make it
look like a
“Tattoo”
27. While in the desert some people begin to ask God
“Why?, Why me?” “Why is this happening to me?”
We must realize there are some questions God don’t
answer. God want to ask the questions. Let us turn form
asking God questions and focus on the questions God
want to ask us.
Isaiah 40:21-31 Do you not know? Have you not heard?
Hath it not been told you from the beginning: Have ye
not understood from the foundations of the earth?
* About His Mercy – The Lord is gracious, and full of
compassion, slow to anger, and of great mercy. The Lord
is good to all; and His tender mercies are overall his
works.
28. * About His Glory
* About His Love – He loved us so, so much
that He gave His only son for us. There can
be no greater love than that. The question is
“What are we giving in return” Love given
should be love received.” It should be give
and take.
* About His passion - it’s all available to us
29. Focus Your Passion and Love for God
People believe if you have money, you can get
everything else. People are convinced about
money solving ALL their problems. If they just
had a certain amount of money.
(More money…More problems)
God’s mercy is the key to solving your problems.
Matthew 6:25-34 Seek first His kingdom and all
will be given unto you.
Tell someone seek God’s kingdom
30. • Isaiah 40:28 Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard
that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the
ends of the earth, fainted not, neither is weary? There is
no searching of his understanding.
• 40:29 He gives power to the faint; and to them that have
no might he increase their strength.
• 40:30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the
young men shall utterly fall:
• 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their
strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they
shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not
faint. Tell someone . . . .
• I will walk and not faint
31. • In the process of questioning, we are able to expose
problems and our problems can be dealt with. Here in
this part of the world we like to keep secrets until things
are so far out of control and that is when we begin to call
on God. Tell someone call on God every day. Don’t wait
until the problem arises.
• We’re suppose to be in His presence everyday
• We’re suppose to talk to Him everyday
• We’re suppose to rely on Him completely everyday
• We’re suppose to Trust Him every day in spite of our
current circumstances, in spite of the storms
• We’re supposed to be intimate with God because the
more we get to know Him, the more we’ll want to know
Him. Tell someone “know Jesus”
32. God created us to be in a
relationship with Him
because of the passion
He has for His people.
He has given us the
freedom to choose
whether to love Him or
live independently of
Him. One of the most
devastating consequences
of our sins is that it
breaks God’s law and it
breaks God’s heart.
33. The Book of Job
This book helps us to understand that Satan
CANNOT bring financial and physical destruction
upon us unless it is by God’s permission. God has
power over what Satan can and cannot do.
34. Satan accuses God that Job was only faithful to Him
because God blessed him. He insist Job only served God because
God protected him and he had a good life. God denied that it was
true and gave Satan permission to test Job’s faith and loyalty.
Job began to suffer, he lost his family (except his wife), his
wealth, and his health. The question is “why does the righteous
suffer? Job’s friends insisted that his tragedies were some type of
punishment for his sins. Regardless, because of the love and
passion Job had for Christ he remained devoted. Job eventually
questioned God and learns a valuable lesson about the sovereignty
of God and his need to totally trust in the Lord. Job was restored
his health, happiness, and prosperity beyond his earlier state.
Remember God is the source when we are suffering and when
we are not suffering. God doesn’t change. Tell someone.
35. It is beyond our
human ability to
understand the
“why’s” behind all
the suffering in
the world.
The wicked will receive their just dues. We cannot
blame suffering and sin on our lifestyles. Suffering
may sometimes be allowed in our lives to purify,
test, and teach or strengthens the soul. God
deserves our love and praise in spite of our current
circumstances of life.
37. Being passionate about God and being in the
right relationship doesn’t exempt us from
problems, but it does enable us and give us
strength to overcome them. Tell Someone I
want a strong passionate intimate relationship
with God. Tell someone I am passionate about
God.
38. TELL SOMEONE
God is the answer to all our questions, and He is the answer to
getting rid of negative passion. He is the answer to
developing our passion.
Tell Someone:
God is “THE ANSWER”. God can restore whatever has been
taken from you. We must realize that is God truly the missing
ingredient in our lives.
God is the Answer . . .Go and Tell Someone . . .
Be Passionate about God.
