1. Audience questionnaire
results:
I asked ten students of
Winstanley college who take
AS media to take part in my
questionnaire
2. Question 1: Are you male or
female?
Male [] Female []
For this
questionnaire I asked
5 males and 5
females to make the
spread of data equal.
5
5
3. Question 2: If you were to buy a
magazine, would you prefer to see a
female artist or band, or a male artist or
band?
Male artist or band [] Female artist or
band []
This shows that more people are
slightly more interested in female
musicians rather than the male
ones.
male
5
4
female
4. Question 3:Would you prefer to
see a male or a female on the front
cover of a magazine?
Male [] Female []
These results again
were evenly spread, I
think this may be
because people listen
to very different types
of music therefore,
they see different
types of people and
music on the front
cover.
5. Question 4:What would you say is your favourite style of music?
I’m glad I achieved
these results because
it shows that I need
to include a diverse
music range in my
magazine but lean it
more to a certain
style.
6. Question 5: When you’re buying a magazine,
what influences you?
For this question, 4 people said the band on the
cover and whether or not the story is interesting
about them
2 people said whether they’re familiar with the
magazine and purchase it on a regular basis
3 people said whether the stories inside look
interesting and something they would like to read.
These responses are 1 person said whether or not it has gig information.
good because they
allow me to make a
detailed contents page
and explore different
avenues on what I
could write about.
7. Question 6:How often do you buy
music magazines?
These results show that
people are much less
likely to buy music
magazines on a frequent
basis, this may be because
it is too expensive to buy
them as they’re too much
money.
8. Question 7:What kind of magazine
would appeal to your taste?
This shows that people are
more into the alternative,
individual music rather
than pop music. People of
the AS year seem to be
looking at being a different
style to everyone else.
9. Question 8:If you were to buy one
of these magazines what out of all
of them appeals to you the most?
Story lines are one of the
most important part of a
magazine anyway, but
people seem to think that
this is one of the most
important things in a music
magazine also. Along with
the front image which
attracts the eye and the
freebies, which entices you
to buy the magazine.
10. Question 9:What do you consider a
reasonable price for your
magazine?
It is clear here by looking at
these results that people are
more likely to want to buy
magazines that are cheaper
rather than pay a few
pounds more, so I have to
consider this when creating
my front cover.
11. Question 10:What features would
you like to see in a magazine?
Deciding on the different
features that a magazine could
include is very important, so I
wanted to make sure that I
chose carefully because the
features are what draw the
readers of the magazine in. But
it seems that the people in my
media are the most interested
in the gig reviews and ones that
are up and coming.
