ANS 1:
A division manager cannot set objectives himself because these decisions are taken on
the top level management. He can take decisions on a individual level but he is not
authorized to take decision on an organization wise level. And as far as the information
from the HQ is concerned he A) needs to know the expectations very clearly b) and also
know the objectives and the steps taken to achieve them.


Ans 2:
Well the goals set by him were on a positive note. This show an aggressive and
pessimistic approach. But I would have waited for the answer from the president.
Because what ever goals I have asked my subordinates to achieve would mean nothing if
the upper management has different plans all together.
