1. Pre-Sales Data Architect (BI/DW) Job Description:<br />TEKsystems Global Services, Data Services Practice is seeking an internal Sr. Business Intelligence focused Architect specializing in the areas of Business Intelligence and Data warehousing utilizing the Microsoft platform. The ideal candidate will act as a professional consultant in the aforementioned areas to Data Services Practice customers. A demonstrated expert level understanding of the entire Microsoft Business Intelligence stack is required for this position including SQL Server Database, SQL Server Integration Services, SQL Server Analysis Services, SQL Server Reporting Services, Performance Point, and PowerPivot. Additionally, experience with formal data quality and master data management tools is a plus. The Information Architect is an authoritative role that is responsible for overall design and architecture of client Data Governance, Business Intelligence, and Data Warehousing solutions, including presentation, data architecture and integration, development and report delivery. The architect will work closely TEKsystems Project Management and the client’s technical and business groups to define requirements and develop strategic and tactical solutions. During projects the role is responsible for partnering with project management, cross-functional teams of users, IT developers, and analysts to ensure successful delivery of key functionalities. This role requires a dynamic personality with extensive knowledge in three distinct disciplines: - Data GovernanceConcrete experience with and a wide base knowledge of general Data Governance principles, methodologies, and frameworks is a critical area of focus for the position including Master Data Management and Data Quality. - Business IntelligenceDeep understanding of general BI strategies and solutions utilizing a wide range of products. Personal hands-on experience architecting, designing, implementing, and delivering solutions utilizing technologies from a variety of vendors is a must. - Data WarehousingUnderstanding and personal hands-on application of both “bottom-up” and “top-down” data warehousing architectures is required. The ability to conversationally discuss detailed aspects of complex data warehousing solution elements is critical to the success of the role.Roles and Responsibilities- Sales – Closing Technical SupportSupport the closing stage of the sales process providing deep technical resource experience, advice, and customer support. In general this responsibility involves interfacing with the customer’s internal technical staff to prove TEKsystems’s BI/DW technical capabilities.- Transition - Sales to Delivery Transition Technical SupportUpon closing a sale, take on the lead technical role in setting up the new program/project. Project staffing, estimation, execution methodology, etc are the main activities. Tight interpersonal integration with Project Managers from both TEKsystems and the client is required. - Delivery Technical OversightProvide practice level Sr. Architect oversight, advise, and support to project architectsProvide methodology support and customization to design and development using waterfall, agile BI, DAMA DABOK, Inmon CIF, and Informatica Velocity- Perform Short-Term Technical AssessmentsProvide short-term general BI Organization Maturity and Data Quality assessments to clients.Develop recommendations and roadmaps- Mentor, Train, and develop technical and sales resources in DG, BI, and DW topicsSkills Required- 5+ years of Business Intelligence experience- 5+ years of Data Warehousing experience – Any toolsets- 2+ years of Data Architecture enterprise initiative experience- 1+ years Data Quality project work- EXCELLENT speaking and presentation skills and a positive attitudeQualifications- Expert in the Microsoft stack of Business Intelligence, Integration, and Database tools including hands-on development, integration, and customization experience. - Extensive professional experience creating solutions with the following Microsoft technologies is requiredSQL Server DatabaseSQL Server Integration ServicesSQL Server Analysis ServicesSQL Server Reporting ServicesPerformance PointPowerPivot- Strong knowledge of best practices and techniques with the aforementioned tools is required- Expert in Multidimensional data modeling- Knowledge of Microsoft’s Master Data Services a plus- Knowledge of other vendor MDM, DQ, Integration, and database technologies a plus.
