2. COXSACKIE
the coxsackieviruses were discovered in 1948-1949 by Dr. Gilbert Dalldorf, a
scientist working at the New York State Department of Health in
Albany, New York.
Dalldorf, in collaboration with Grace Sickles, had been searching for a cure
for the dreaded disease polio. Earlier work Dalldorf had done in monkeys
suggested that fluid collected from a nonpolio virus preparation could protect
against the crippling effects of polio. Using newborn mice as a
vehicle, Dalldorf attempted to isolate such protective viruses from the feces
of polio patients. In carrying out these experiments, he discovered viruses that
often mimicked mild or nonparalytic polio. The virus family he discovered was
eventually given the name Coxsackie, for the town of Coxsackie, New York, a
small town on the Hudson River where Dalldorf had obtained the first fecal
specimens.
3. COXSACKIE
The virus is spread by direct contact with nose and throat
discharges blisters and feces of infected people. A Person is first
contagious when the virus is brought to them and it could be still
contagious for 4 weeks. There is no specific treatment. Treatment
is aimed at fever control and maintaining good oral hydration.
Just make sure that you wash your hands ever so often and brush
teeth and bath your self very frequently. The consequences are a
sore throat, a fever, poor appetite, runny nose can appear three to
five days after it is in you. A blister kind of like rash on the hands,
feet and in the mouth usually develops one to two days after the
symptoms that I named above start.
4. COXSACKIE
Under a microscope it looks like little white dots
But they are connected together with a darkish
Haze. On your skin tho it’s a dark red and some-
Times is pops out as blisters on your infected
Part of your body. The Coxsakie virus is an
Airborne viruses. This viruses can be found literally
Anywhere where there is a lot of people. Mostly it is found in schools or on
bus’s because everyone touches objects.
5. COXSACKIE
Mostly children are infected but it can literally get anyone because of the
amount of touching people do with everyone's things. It gets children more
and old people because of there immune system and because a bunch of
children are in school and that’s the number 1 place to get it. Its very simple to
reduce the amount of people who get this. ALL you would have to do is just
wash your hands or wipe things off. Brushing your teeth and taking care of
your personal hygiene is very very important. The coxsackieviruses were
