This document provides an overview of resources for conducting library research at Pace University, including searching the library catalog and databases, accessing ebooks, using interlibrary loan through ConnectNY, searching Google Scholar, and getting additional research assistance from librarians. Tips are provided for effective searching of the catalog, databases, and Google as well as navigating full-text availability and citations. Students are encouraged to contact the librarian Jennifer Rosenstein or use online research guides and tutorials for help with their research.

7. Access all databases through the library home page
Click on the Databases: Find an Article link
Academic Search Premier – can be combined with other databases
using the Choose Databases link
Jstor (note: Jstor has only scholarly articles and they are all at least 3
years old)
Opposing Viewpoints: for controversial topics such as gay marriage
and GMOs

• Combine terms with AND – this makes your search more narrow
& focused
• Combine synonyms with OR
• Put OR terms in parentheses ( shift+9 & shift+0)
• Place multi-word phrases in quotation marks.
