1. PS3 Jailbreak tutorual
PSJailbreak revealed their particular new dongle in August by delivering a pre release to a
single store. This was massive news and was front page on the main sites within hours.
Many sites were initially claiming it would be a fake. More reputable online stores backed it
up with claims they had pre release versions. Pre orders for the PSJailbreak dongle were
huge. Due to the massive demand many who pre ordered had to wait months. The key
problem was fixed with firmware 3.56 released quickly by Sony Only approved USB devices
could not be connected to the PS3. The new firmware successfully blocked the PSJailbeak
dongle As older games were now all able to be backed up they would need updates to the
newer keys. Without a firmware spoofer it was not impossible to go online with PSN. With
christmas on the way the new rush of game releases would need updated firmware to play,
The first release to cause real problems was GT5 It required firmware 3.50 to run and this
means no dongles could work.
By christmas though the eboot had been finally patched and the game was playable. By the
end of December failoverflow had shown the Key Fail to the world New years eve and the
next day saw the scene light up with the first news of the public keys. Geohot released his
hello world on new years day Not long after that he released his jailbreak pup. By patching
the key system it meant the ps3 could run homebrew and online gaming at the same time. A
great way to run backups was found with this jailbreak. Still the nicest looking now! One
infamous CFW from Wanikoto caused many bricks but most went for the Keamw release.
This is the golden age with full PSN access for CFW users. Suddenly cheating was a real
problem with online games for the PS3 Meanwhile Sony were working behind the scenes to
change things. During this time a hacker quietly gained access to the PSN account server.
Credit card details were stolen from a possible 50 million users. Realising what has
happened Sony shut down the entire network. Its over a month before the new PSN is open
again. Once it came back the extra security meant forget about PSN for CFW users. For the
average user accessing the network was too difficult. Newer games started to require higher
versions.
Once more the PS3 scene started to go into limbo For some time but the release of the true
blue dongle reunites it. This needed their own eboots to run the backup games. Eboots that
were being released by paradox. Duplex became famous for a large release of PSN games
sparking rumors that they had the new keys. The exact method TureBlue were using to
resign the Eboots could only be guessed at, something sort of confirmed a bit later as the
3.60 keys themselves were leaked. Rumors of a jailbreak for 3.60 OFW circulated along with
various youtube videos. It didnt take long though until Duplex turned their attention to the TB
dongle itself. Very quickly they started releasing many of the TB eboots to work on any CFW.
TB claimed to be about to release an update for their dongle with new games so far no
updates from them have been made Is this the end of the trueblue dongle? Another big
development to note is the new found ability to convert from CEX to DEX.
