1. Research begins with a population of people
(often a large one)

2. Some of these people are willing to participate in research
(often because they were
recently diagnosed with a
disease)

3. These people are entered in a research registry
(this allows researchers to
contact them if they match
criteria in some future studies)

4. Registar manages the people entered in a research registry
(it handles many of the details
of running a registry)

5. handles day-to-day details like:
o Storing name, address, phone, and email
o Consenting with electronic signature
o Capturing NIH coded gender, race, and ethnicity
o Filling out a survey or questionnaire
o Searching for participants by question responses
o Emailing reminders to renew registry
o Forwarding potential participants to researchers
o And much more!!!

6. Registar manages the people entered in a research registry
(it handles many of the details
of running a registry)

7. Registry participants can be identified for a study
(based on how a person fills
out a registry they may be a
good fit for a study)

o Help identify if participants are on multiple trials

data that is outside the scope of the medical record
EDW Reports on medical history and current lab data can be
generated from an eNOTIS study participant list
