Five Steps Read Pretty easy, if you got the abc’s down in kindergarten. Then again, you’re not reading “Green Eggs and Ham.”
Five Steps Read While these may be ‘short’ novels, you won’t be able to finish it in the car on the way to school, or, in your case, five minutes before chat starts.
Five Steps Read We’ll take two weeks on most novels.* My recommendation: read at least one hour every day, Monday-Saturday--take a break on Sunday; its good for you. *For the first novel, The Overcoat, you only get one week to read it.

Character Example: Gandalf Here’s what we want to remember about him character's appearance (head to toe) relationship to other main characters good or bad qualities what he or she desires So, let’s give it a try…
Example: Gandalf Old wizard, wears long rough cloak, tall pointed hat, silver beard, carries staff Friend to all good creatures, enemy of Sauron and all his minions Wise, powerful, encouraging; short temper, sometimes late Desires to help preserve Middle Earth

Five Steps To keep track of the main events in each novel we are going to create a “Wiki”. * Events Wiki *Wiki is a Hawaiian word that means ‘fast’. And trust me, we’ve chosen just the right word for this assignment.
First, click the link.
Then, read instructions.
Summarize (briefly) an important event. Save it.
Now your event is up. Can you say “wiki” (i.e. fast)!
What if all the big events are taken? Or what if I disagree about someone’s take on an event? Make your opinion known by clicking here.
