9. Brian McDermott ’s background is journalism. Before GrowthWorks he worked for newspapers, magazines, in corporate communications, and for one of the leading US publishers in the areas of training, human resources, and business management. He was a business journalist, conference designer, editor, and video producer. He has published hundreds of articles on management, quality, innovation, customer service, and training. Brian is also co-author of Time Out for Leaders: Daily Inspiration for Maximum Impact

10. Gerry Sexton ’s background is in medicine. He received his Doctorate of Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Aeronautical Studies from the University of North Dakota, graduating Summa Cum Laude while obtaining a commercial pilot’s license. Before GrowthWorks, he spent five years at the Calhoun Beach Club in Minneapolis, where he first ran the health fitness center and later was responsible for the entire operation, including the residential, restaurant, and meeting and banquet facilities with a team of more than 200 people.
