1. Johann Kaspar Schmidt better known as Max Stirner, was a German
philosopher. He is often seen as one of the forerunners of
nihilism, existentialism, post-modernism, and anarchism, especially of
individualist anarchism. Stirner's main work is The Ego and Its Own, also
known as The Ego and His Own (Der Einzige und sein Eigentum in
German, which translates literally as The Unique One and his Property). This
work was first published in 1845 in Leipzig, and has since appeared in
numerous editions and translations.
Although largely unknown in academic circles around the world at that point
of time, this brilliant thinker was made famous through the book X, where the
writer(s) critique Stirner’s ideology along with that of Bruno Bauer and Young
Hegelians.

3. Within the field of computer science, specifically in the area of formal
languages, the X hierarchy (occasionally referred to as X–Schützenberger
hierarchy) is a containment hierarchy of classes of formal grammars. This
hierarchy of grammars was described by X in 1956. It is also named after
Marcel-Paul Schützenberger, who played a crucial role in the
development of the theory of formal languages. The X Hierarchy, in
essence, allows the possibility for the understanding and use of a
computer science model which enables a programmer to accomplish
meaningful linguistic goals systematically.

5. Six Degrees of X is a parlor game based on the "six degrees of
separation" concept, which posits that any two people on Earth
are, on average, about six acquaintance links apart. That idea
eventually morphed into this parlor game, wherein movie buffs
challenge each other to find the shortest path between an arbitrary
actor and veteran Hollywood character actor X. It rests on the
assumption that any individual involved in the Hollywood, California
film industry can be linked through his or her film roles to X within
six steps. The game requires a group of players to try to connect any
such individual to X as quickly as possible and in as few links as
possible. It can also be described as a trivia game based on the
concept of the small world phenomenon. In 2007, X started a
charitable organization named SixDegrees.org.

15. X is a French term which originally described a domestic arrangement in
which three people having sexual relations occupy the same household – the
phrase literally translates as "household of three". In contemporary
usage, the meaning of the term has been extended to mean any living
relationship between three people, whether or not sex is involved but
because it has also been extended to refer to the actual sexual act between
three people, otherwise known as a threesome, the term retains its
suggestive quality.

17. Public Opinion is a book by Walter Lippmann, published in 1922, that is a
critical assessment of functional democratic government, especially the
irrational, and often self-serving, social perceptions that influence
individual behavior, and prevent optimal societal cohesion. The
descriptions of the cognitive limitations people face in comprehending
their socio-political and cultural environments, proposes that people must
inevitably apply an evolving catalogue of general X to a complex
reality, rendered Public Opinion a seminal text in the fields of media
studies, political science, and social psychology.
This was the first time X was used in its modern psychological sense, as
opposed to Firmin Didot’s definition of X as typography.

19. X or facial prominence is the relative prominence of the face in the portrayal
of men and women. Research shows that media tend to focus more on
men's faces and women's bodies.
The term X or “facial prominence” was initially defined by
Archer, Iritani, Kimes and Barrios in their five studies of sex differences in
facial prominence (Archer, Iritani, Kimes & Barrios, 1983). In their
study, facial prominence was measured by a X index, which is the ratio of two
linear measurements, with the distance (in millimeters or any other unit) in a
depiction from the top of the head to the lowest visible point of the chin
being the numerator and the distance from the top of the head to the lowest
visible part of the subject's body the denominator. It was found that across
societies and over time, facial prominence of men has been much higher
than that of women.

by the Peruvian government, the US Department of State and the European
Parliament but was later removed from the U.S. list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations

33. The book describes the socio-political tactic of creating temporary spaces that elude
formal structures of control. The essay uses various examples from history and
philosophy, all of which suggest that the best way to create a non-hierarchical system of
social relationships is to concentrate on the present and on releasing one's own mind
from the controlling mechanisms that have been imposed on it.
In the formation of a X, Hakim Bey argues, information becomes a key tool that sneaks
into the cracks of formal procedures. A new territory of the moment is created that is on
the boundary line of established regions. Any attempt at permanence that goes beyond
the moment deteriorates to a structured system that inevitably stifles individual creativity.
It is this chance at creativity that is real empowerment.

Mullensiefen said of the study, "Every musical hit is reliant on

frequencies of sound that determine pitch and harmony, to the hi-
tech digital processors and synthesisers which can add effects to

The first Kino Flo unit was created in 1987, during the filming of the
movie Barfly. Director of photography Robby Mueller was filming in
a cramped interior, and couldn't fit traditional lights into the
location. In order to work around the problem, the film's gaffer
Frieder Hochheim and best boy Gary Swink designed a high-output
fluorescent light that had a remote ballast, allowing the lamp unit
to become small and lightweight enough to be taped to the wall.
Hochheim and Swink subsequently created a company, Kino Flo
Incorporated, to manufacture and market their innovation to the
film industry. The new lights were quickly embraced by
cinematographers, and now are considered a staple of a standard
motion picture lighting package.

54. The Oxford English Dictionary states that the ultimate etymology is
uncertain, but that the word is "probably cognate" with a number of native
Germanic words with meanings involving striking, rubbing, and ____ ____.
The usually accepted first known occurrence is in code in a poem in a
mixture of Latin and English composed some time before 1500. The
poem, which satirizes the Carmelite friars of Cambridge, England, takes its
title, "Flen flyys", from the first words of its opening line, Flen, flyys, and
freris (= "Fleas, flies, and friars"). The line that contains X reads Non sunt in
coeli, quia gxddbov xxkxzt pg ifmk. Removing the substitution cipher
(here, replacing each letter by the next letter in alphabetical order, as the
English alphabet was then) on the phrase "gxddbov xxkxzt pg ifmk" yields
non sunt in coeli, quia fvccant vvivys of heli, which translated means, "They
are not in heaven because they X wives of Ely".

66. X is a verbal game and a genre of Urdu poetry played by composing
verses of Urdu poems. The game is common among Urdu speakers in
Pakistan and India. It resembles the Malayalam Aksharaslokam and, more
generally, the British Crambo. The game starts with the first person
reciting a stanza of a poem. Each following player has to reply with
another verse starting with the last letter of the verse used by the
previous player. A verse that has already been used in a game may not be
repeated. The rules used by experienced players can be more
stringent, such as allowing the use of only one poet's verses or of one
theme.
