6. • In South Africa there are 11 spoken
languages which are: Afrikaans, English,
Ndebele, Northern Sotho, Sotho, Swazi,
Tswana, Tsonga, Venda,Xhosa, and Zulu
• The first language is Afrikaans (13,3%),
although Zulu (23,8%) and Xhosa (17,6%)
are the most spoken.

• Like many African countries, South Africa
was colonized by the British, and so they
left a 'trace' of their language there.
• In Africans schools two languages are
taught: English and Afrikaans.

Bloemfontein, and Johannesburg which is
also the largest city. Cape Town is the
country’s capital city.
