10. How are the modules delivered
• Each module is worth 20 credits

1.5 or 2 will be student/tutor contact time.
• Some modules spread this over two terms instead.
In addition there could be:
• Instrumental lessons
• Ensembles
• Tutorials
• Staff office hours
11. What kind of live music takes place
There are a huge variety of opportunities for live performance:
• Various ensembles perform in the newly-refurbished Artaud Building
throughout the year.
• There is a bi-monthly ‘Arts At Artaud’ showcase of work from students
across the School.
• All School of Arts students can take part in the range of activities offered
by the Arts Centre (Chamber Orchestra, Chamber Choir etc.) and their
‘Music Happens’ series.
• Performances also take place at local
venues off campus e.g. Harrow Arts Centre
12. Ensembles to join
• New Noise
• Jazzbridge
• IKB Ensemble
• Brunel Vox
• Guitar Ensemble
• Piano Circus Group
• Beamers
13. Artists in residence
• Piano Circus
• Leafcutter John
• Apartment House
All ensembles enable our composition
students to hear their music played by
professional musicians, through
master-classes, workshops,
collaborative projects and concerts.

15. Good news to consider
• Music graduates are highly employable because
of their wide-ranging transferable skills
• You will have the ability to work in a team, but
also to lead with confidence
• You will be creative
• You will be practical
• You will have an informed, but open view-point
16. Strong links to the real world
• All music staff are prolific performers, composers and writers, with
vibrant links to all the key professional bodies in London, the UK
and abroad.
• Students have the opportunity to be involved with staff
performances, recordings, and conferences, gaining valuable hands-
on experience.
• Students in recent years have been involved with Music Orbit,
Notes Ingales, the BEAM Festival, Sound and Music, our London
series at Café Oto, the Klankleur Festival in Amsterdam, and all our
artists-in-residence.
