Chris Bryant set a SMART goal to improve his speed and fitness by decreasing his mile time over 8 weeks. He tracked his mile times each week and ran frequently, setting a daily time to run. Through dedication to running most days and eating healthier, he was able to decrease his mile time from over 6:30 minutes to achieving his goal of 6:45 minutes after 8 weeks. While some weeks were busier than others, he continued to push himself to accomplish his goal.

Steps to Achieve SMART Goal Made sure I set a certain time each day to run (if I couldn’t for some reason at my specific time, I would try to find different time) Tracked times I ran the mile each week (every week out of 8 I would run just a mile) Most days I ran I would run more than a mile to increase stamina Dedicated my body and my mind (ate healthier foods to help me) Some times I would be busy and/or wanted to do other things

6. Results of SMART Goal Wanted to achieve 6:30 minute mile and I reached 6:45 after my 8 weeks Continuing to run still and after my 8 weeks I have achieved my goal!!! Some weeks better than others (some weeks busier than others) After my 4th week and I went back up in time I pushed myself harder I will set more goals like this one and work hard to accomplish it!
