1. THE OLD OAK
TREE
By Isobel Kynoch and Hollie Bunn
2. “BOO!” giggled baby Boo. Katie,Tom and Ben were
playing hide and seek in the park while mum fed
baby Boo.They were very hungry so they went around
the corner to a shop and bought chocolate, sweets and
a can of coke. When they had finished their snacks, they
couldn’t find a bin so they stuffed the snacks in the
hedge, then raced back to the park and continued to
play hide and seek.
3. The people in the village saw what Tom, Katie and
Ben did and they copied them and put rubbish in the
bushes.
Then Tom,Katie and Ben went home to check on
their bunnies called Sir Henry IX and Queen Vicky I
4. But when they got home they found that the two
bunnies had gone! Where could they be?
Katie told mum that she was going to check up on
the mountains,Tom told mum he was going to
check the park and mum, baby Boo and Ben
checked everywhere else in the village.
5. Katie kept on looking for her bunnies. Then she stopped
by a old oak tree and wept. The old oak tree moaned to
Katie.
“What have you done to Wilmcote village? I have been
here for over 500 years and I have never seen it look
like this. It is a mess! No wonder you’re bunnies have
runaway. They don’t like the environment with all this
rubbish!”
6. Katie went back to the village and explained
what had happened. The villagers were ashamed
So the oak tree convinced the whole village to
tidy Wilmcote so it was nice, clean and no longer
a mess.
The whole of Wilmcote threw a party because to
celebrate that their village was no longer rubbish
dump.
7. Then they heard a rustling in the tree and guess what it
was?
Their bunnies.
But there was more then just the two. There was seven
little bunnies. There were three girls and four boys.
Katie, Ben and Tom were thrilled. There village was clean,
people had learned a lesson, the oak tree was happy -
now all they had to do was think of some names for the
new arrivals!
