your children-and to stay close to their hearts.
Your strength and your courage set a wonderful
example for your children. So Families while your
Soldier-Dad is home, be sure to appreciate them
fully-why not serve Dad breakfast in bed on

12. Volunteer Opportunities
McEwen Library is looking for volunteers to assist in day to day duties around the library.
Responsibilities include: shelving books, process new materials, maintain the routine upkeep of the
library such as dusting shelves, cleaning screens and keyboards, sending out overdue notices. Hours are
extremely flexible...anytime the library is open! If you are interested, please contact Wendy Newell at

If you have left Fort Drum please note that we are not able to remove your name from our roster. You will
need to go into your armyonesource profile and change your military community to reflect your new

How can they help?
Chaplains are here to help Families with their spiritual needs and they can help with locating other resources in the community.
Chaplains are available at the battalion level and through installation

Military Family Life Consultants are civilians with no reporting obligations to commanders who are available free of charge to Soldiers and
their Families. The Military Family Life Consultants (MFLCs) are licensed professionals who listen to your issues and direct you to agencies
who can help. Sometimes all it takes is talking out the issue in order to find a resolution.

Walk In/Appointments at ACS

Personal Financial Counselors (PFCs) are another resource available free to charge to military Soldiers and Families. As a response to the
economic downturn in 2008, these licensed professionals were contracted to assist military Families with financial issues from the
creation of a budget to savings for retirement.
