ORIGINS OF YUCAN QM - PROPOSITION
TO OPTIMISE COMPLIANCE AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT MANAGEMENT
Yucan QM was developed to assist organizations in the implementation of and
compliance with legal requirements and any other internal or external control
measures and standards.
The innovative solution allows organisations to measure the level of compliance,
year after year, and can facilitate this information to all – internal and external –
stakeholders of the organisation.

ORIGINS OF YUCAN QM - DEVELOPMENT

   The Yucan QM tool was developed by Desk.nl, a web development company established in
    Amsterdam in 1994. The application was developed at the request of an audit firm active
    within the education sector.
       Q3 2006:
           Development of an online application that applies the PDCA cycle to the management of educational institutes
            and that facilitates their annual inspection obligations (Holland).
       Q1 2007:
           Implementation of Yucan QM in the “ROC Mondriaan” educational institute (Holland). Both the institute and
            each of the courses on the institute’s curriculum are submitted to a self-assessment process followed by an
            external audit.
       Q3 2007:
           Release of Yucan QM version 2.0, including CMS functionality that enables organisations to continually assess
            any set of criteria, whether a (quality) management system, legal framework or a customised business model.
       Q3 2009:
           The Dutch Quality Institute – an independent organisation founded by the Dutch Ministry of Economy –
            becomes a Yucan QM partner and disseminates all of its products through the online application .
       Q1 2011:
           Opening of offices in San Pedro Alcántara (Málaga, Spain) and launch of Yucan QM in Spanish and English
            speaking markets.
       Q3 2011:
           The Yucan QM tool has obtained a 25% market share in educational accreditations in Holland, with a view of
            acquiring up to a 50% share by Q2 2012. The application is further implemented in 385 town halls, various
            Chambers of Commerce and numerous private enterprises throughout the Netherlands.
       Q4 2011:
           Opening of offices in Las Rozas (Madrid) and implementation of Yucan QM in biomedical research facility
            Fundación de Investigación Biomédica del Hospital Universitario Puerta de Hierro Majadahonda.

Desde su concepción el propósito de Yucan QM ha sido la optimización de la gestión de cumplimiento y de la mejora continua.La complejidad que afrentan todas las organizaciones, en cumplir estrictamente con las obligaciones legales y criterios internos y externos de gestión, nos conduce a elaborar una herramienta que permite medir el grado de cumplimiento año tras año, y que facilita esta información a todos los interesados, tanto los internos como los externos a la organización.El propósito es entonces: la elaboración de una herramienta única para evaluar cualquier conjunto de criterios, que funcione como repositorio central de cumplimiento, que vaya dirigida a la mejora continua y que facilita las auditorias e inspecciones. Por último, y en línea con la idea principal de facilitación, la herramienta debe ser de rápido despliegue, sin necesidad de inversión o integración.
  2. Las aplicaciones SAAS en general proporcionan grandes beneficios en comparación con otras tecnologías TI:Una vez definido el conjunto de criterios a medir dentro de la herramienta, la aplicación está disponible, sin requerir instalaciones previas ni integración con sistemas actuales. El despliegue de la herramienta es casi inmediato.Igualmente la herramienta es completamente escalable y provee una visión global o detallada según las exigencias de transparencia de los stakeholders.
