19. This study has examined a possibility of a relation between income disparities and the spatial structure in the region of Montérégie/Estrie in Québec. There is a significant correlation between the two series of numbers, and it is stronger after a period of 20 years.. The increase in the strength of the correlation could be an indicator of the relation. However, it cannot be inferred by these data that there is a causal effect between the two phenomena, although there is one in the sequence of the concept underlying the spatial structure, the territory generation path. More research will have to be performed on the issue before we will be able to state definitely on the question. Conclusion
