the time in everyday English!

3. In everyday English we use these forms very often:
throw away
look for
put on
stand up
turn around
get out...
‘get out’ is a ‘phrasal verb’
It consists of a verb and a particle, a short word.
Together they function as a verb, with a particular
meaning. ‘get in’ is not the same as ‘get out’.

You’ll see that we use phrasal verbs all the time.

2. She picks up English very easily.
3. The plane takes off late.
1. = stop, quit
2. = learn
3. = leave the ground
These phrasal verbs are not so easy to understand.
You have to study their meaning.
=> idiomatic/figurative meaning
They are very important in everyday English.
