Hi! I am Mrs. Duggan
This is some of the art that I create.
Welcome to the Art Studio! Art is All
          Around Us…
Music is art.
Dance is art.
Acting is art.

The masks of Comedy and Tragedy
Any questions, so far?
We learn to use different art materials here.
Crayons and markers for drawing and
            sketching.
Oil and chalk Pastels for blending and
              smudging.
Paints come in different
           types…
• Like acrylic, tempera or oils.

 Wassily kandinsky
And watercolor!
Different paper like tissue paper and patterned paper is used
to create collage. (the word collage means “to glue” in
                             French!)

                            Romare Bearden
Clay for sculpting (when we sculpt we make sculptures! Get
it?). We can also sculpt with other things too, like wood,
                   paper and cardboard.
Items like cups and bowls and vases made out of clay are
called pottery. We use a kiln, which is a special kind of very
very hot stove to fire the clay.
C o m m e n ts o r q u e s ti o n s ? An y o n e ?
Are you sure?
We are lucky to have so many ways to make art! And one of
the most important things about using art materials is learning
                          how to….
Clean UP!!!
OMG!

                                Blech!

   The Scream by Edvard Munch
Everything has a place. If you don’t know where something
goes…just ask Mrs. Duggan or a friend! Or look again…I’ll bet
                         you’ll find it.

• Markers and crayons should always be put back in containers
after use. Make sure tops are on markers so they don’t dry out!
• Oil and chalk pastels can make a HUGE mess on the floor! So be
sure to put them back in their containers when you are done!
• Paints and water always go back to the sink…but wait for Mrs
Duggan’s directions so we don’t have a sink traffic jam!
• Scraps of paper can make a mess! They have their own place to
  live…in a scrap box!
As you can see, the Art Studio, is a special place. Here we look at art and
make art. We learn from each other and art from around the world and all
                       through history! Seriously!
