The ESA does not protect the animals effectively, but other organizations in the US and around the world do. The ESA needs reform because without the government the animals and plants on the list have no chance to survive. The species have no say in the laws, but effective laws are the best chance the creatures have. Government officials must learn from successful recoveries and improve the ESA with the help of the American citizens. Working together may be the only way to prevent extinction.
With taxes and regulations, the business world constantly fights with the government. The ESA needs to work with corporations to create fair laws the business can agree to follow. Industry constantly seeps around nature and theres no way the government can fight it. By loosening regulations and giving corporations incentives similar to the idea of working with individuals in communities, businesses and the ESA can find peace.
We should not remove the ESA from existence. Laws like the ESA need constant revision to maximize potential. Currently the United States faces numerous serious issues such as terrorism and a failing economy. But the government cannot ignore the ESA’s horrible record any longer. With the right renovation the ESA will save animals.
