 Reciprocal Referrals
 Educate Library Staff on Services offered in the Career Center
so that they can direct the students to our office
 Discuss/Emphasis Information Literacy as it relates to career
planning & development
 House all Career Center career related materials in the library –
 Walk students down to the Ray Broshar Career Resource Center located in
the McMillen Library
 Fully understand the services offered in the library that relate to
career planning & development in addition to pertinent skill
development (resumes, cover letters, interviewing, etc.) and
inform Career Center Staff
 Share newsletters, flyers, postings, etc. in each other’s offices

August 2009 CAREER SERVICES  Reciprocal Referrals  Educate Library Staff on Services offered in the Career Center so that they can direct the students to our office  Discuss/Emphasis Information Literacy as it relates to career planning & development  House all Career Center career related materials in the library –  Walk students down to the Ray Broshar Career Resource Center located in the McMillen Library  Fully understand the services offered in the library that relate to career planning & development in addition to pertinent skill development (resumes, cover letters, interviewing, etc.) and inform Career Center Staff  Share newsletters, flyers, postings, etc. in each other’s offices

August 2009 CAREER SERVICES  Educate both Librarians & Career Center Staff  Help Career Center Staff understand how the field is changing  Global Considerations  Knowledge management  Specialty Librarians  Media - Jonathan Milder of the Food Network  Corporate  Technology  Law  Teaching  Museum, Archived, Genealogy  Share materials, websites, etc. with Career Center Staff -  Help staff in recognizing the traits necessary to be successful librarian in the future so they might suggest the profession to students.  Post information you receive on scholarships, etc. with the Career Center – website, Warrior Jobs Announcements  Personality types similar to engineers and computer sciences

August 2009 CAREER SERVICES  Collaborate  Career Leadership Institute Weeks  Book Chapter -Environments for Student Growth and Development: Libraries and Student Affairs in Collaboration Sponsor Displays related to Career Center topics - American Business Women’s Day Celebration, Professional Dress, resumes, etc. – provides information and brings attention to events  Sponsor Career Related Events in the Library – Mock Interviews, Psychology Presentations, Breakfast with Santa  Sponsor Workshops – graduate school admissions resources co-sponsored together  Workshops on use of databases and resources for research on companies  Joint Advertising for events such as LIS Online Career Fair
