This survey of NIE faculty found that:
- Blackboard is the primary ICT tool used for teaching and learning, used daily or weekly by most faculty. Google Apps is also commonly used.
- Common features used across tools are content repositories, discussion forums, and communications.
- While most faculty are proficient with Blackboard, other tools proficiency levels vary.
- Additional training is needed in instructional strategies for technology integration and tools like Google Apps.
- A diversity of secondary tools are being experimented with but support is needed for their effective use in teaching and learning.
