going to sleep every night.

• Courtship is a display put on by an animal to
try and attract a member of the opposite sex.
• In some species courtship includes elaborate
“rituals”

• Often members of a society are closely related
and have very alike genes. So caring for and
helping other members survive , will give
them a better chance of there genes being
passed on.

• Some animals compete with each other for a
certain area called a territory. By claiming a
territory they get access to all the recourses in
it.

• Communication is the passing of information
from one animal to another. Animals may use
visual, sound or chemical communication.
• Animals with good eyesight often use visual
signals to communicate.
9. Other types of signals
• Chemical signals are used by animals with a
great sense of smell.
• Sound signals are made often to attract
mates. Some animals that communicate with
sound are frogs and birds.
10. Language
• Language is the most complicated form of
communication. Language is a system of
communication that combines sounds ,
symbols or gestures. These also have to follow
the grammar rules for the language.
• Only humans are known to use a language.
