4. • I then created picture boxes
and imported my images. I
then created a graphic
feature of an advertisement
which I was inspired to do
so from other rock
magazine. I chose the
colour green as it was
common colour used in
magazines such as Kerrang.
I then added the issue
number and date next to
the title.
5. • Next, I began to experiment
with my colour scheme and
wanted to explore the
different layouts I could use.
However although the
colour red followed my
scheme I felt it was too
bright and didn’t have
connotations of the rock
genre. Again after
feedback, we felt the advert
feature didn’t work and so I
removed it.
6. • Instead I decided to use
the colour black fro my
background and instead
use the red and white
for text. I decided the
images weren’t
appropriate and not of
the best quality so used
different images.
7. • Next I changed the colour of
page numbers to red
separating them from cover
lines. Again I rearranged the
layout, I found that from
looking at magazines e.g.
Kerrang, Bass etc. That the
page was always full and
sometimes looked
crammed, so I decided to
make my layout look full
and stand out ‘in your face’.
8. • To follow the codes and
conventions I imported an
image of my Masthead
onto the contents page
and centred it. I then
began to create graphic
feature boxes for page
numbers next to my
images. I also created
graphic feature boxes for
regular/features titles.
9. • This was another
attempt at a contents
page draft with all my
chosen images and
layout complete.
10. • However after feedback I
felt that some of the images
weren’t as good as they
could have been and didn’t
really portray the rock
genre. I retook the pictures
and decided to have only
one column of writing. I
rearranged the positioning
of the title and issue date. I
then also added white
graphic features and
changed the original green
features to yellow.
