2. How does your media
product represent
particular social groups?
3. The main character in our film is called Chester Wallace who is
seen to be a normal teenage boy who enjoys cycling around
with his friends on his bike. In the beginning of our film we
have only featured one type of social group which is young
teenage boys. We have represented young teenage boys to be
quite careless whilst cycling fast through the back streets,
disregarding traffic.
We have represented Chester as confident and sociable as we
included tracking shots with him and his friends enjoying
themselves. He is also depicted as active, someone who likes
to be outdoors, rather than at home on his computer. We
represented him in external scenes in order to achieve this in
this part of the film.
4. In the second part of our opening scene Chester
is shown to be depressed with the use of long
takes and slow paced editing to make the
audience feel sorry for him, as he has just lost
his best friend. We have also used a non-
diegetic piano piece to add to the sentimentality
of the scene.
