Computers will be upgraded the dates that
are advertised
◦ You won’t be contacted right before it happens
Groups of computers will be upgraded all at
the same time
3. Upgrading the operating system this way
means that we’re completely re-imaging
your computer
◦ All data is removed
◦ All software is removed
◦ There will be changes to your profile – new profile
◦ Some older peripheral devices may not work
◦ Some smaller/older software may not work

Training is available now through the HR training website. We are currently holding multiple training sessions each week and can expand that as interest increases. Technology tutorials are available for items like adding a pst file or adding a network printer. Remote support is available during our posted service desk support hours by going to support.shsu.edu from any internet connected computer. Remote support includes an integrated chat feature that will allow you to communicate with the technician. You can also call the service desk and use the expedited extension 4-help, 4-4357 specific to faculty and staff. You an also e-mail the service desk with questions as needed. We post all IT related news, outages, changes on our social media sites so if you haven’t already please check these out and keep up to date.
